Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-26
This Cookie Policy explains how footballevents.eu, operated by [Company OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia], uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Contact: legal@footballevents.eu.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser. "Similar technologies" include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels. Cookies can be:
- Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — kept for a defined time.
- First-party — set by us.
- Third-party — set by other domains loaded inside our pages.
2. Our Approach
We try to keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiling. The only cookies we set ourselves are strictly necessary for the Service to work.
Because we do not run any non-essential first-party tracking, you will not see an intrusive consent banner asking you to accept marketing cookies. We do, however, provide a clear notice and respect your "Do Not Track" preferences where technically possible.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary (First-Party)
These cookies are required for core functionality and cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
session (or equivalent auth cookie) |
Keeps you signed in | HTTP-only, Secure | Up to 30 days |
csrf_token |
Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | HTTP-only, Secure | Session |
locale |
Remembers your language choice (EN, RU, DE, ES) | First-party | 1 year |
theme / UI prefs |
Remembers minor interface preferences | First-party | 1 year |
Legal basis: strictly necessary under the ePrivacy Directive — no consent required.
3.2 Analytics (Cookie-less)
We use Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate usage (page views, referrers, country). Plausible is cookie-less and does not store any persistent identifier on your device. It does not collect personal data and is GDPR/PECR-friendly. No consent banner is required for Plausible under current EU guidance.
3.3 Third-Party Cookies (Loaded On Demand)
Third-party cookies are only set when you actively use the related feature.
| Provider | When loaded | Purpose | More info |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | On checkout pages and when entering payment details | Fraud prevention, card payments | stripe.com/privacy |
| YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode where possible) | When an embedded YouTube video is rendered on a listing page | Video playback, abuse prevention | policies.google.com |
| Vimeo | When an embedded Vimeo video is rendered on a listing page | Video playback | vimeo.com/privacy |
These providers may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not control those cookies. Where feasible, video embeds use privacy-enhanced or "do-not-track" modes and load only after you interact with the player or the page.
We do not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar advertising trackers.
4. Local Storage
We may use the browser's localStorage to store small UI state (e.g., dismissed banners, draft form input, saved-event IDs for guests). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us unless required for a feature you actively use.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
You can also:
- delete cookies already stored,
- block third-party cookies,
- enable "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or submitting forms. Blocking third-party cookies may break embedded videos or payment flows.
6. Mobile and Similar
If we offer mobile or PWA experiences, similar storage mechanisms (IndexedDB, service worker caches) may be used purely to enable offline UI and faster loading. They store no advertising identifiers.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves — for example, if we add a new embed provider or replace a sub-processor. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice.
8. More Information
For details on how we handle personal data overall, see our Privacy Policy.
